I'm not asking for prescience, but my sci-fi weather control satellites reasonably don't work on the scale of millennia it takes to reforest. I'm reading up on Romanian 'timber mafia' and desertification in the South, is it reasonable to think Romania will lose half its forests and everything between the Romanian-Serbian border to Craiova would become desert in 500 years?
