I'm looking for books (and/or other resource material) pertaining to the American Communist Party, especially in the late forties and up to the McCarthy/Hollywood 10 era. I've managed to order: "The American Communist Party, a critical history, 1919-1957" by Irving Howe and Lewis Coser, "The Soviet World of American Communism" by Harvey Klehr, John Earl Haynes, and Kyrill M. Anderson, and "The cause that failed : communism in American political life" by Guenter Lewy. That last one seems rather partisan, but I thought it might be fun.
If anyone knows of a great resource on the subject I'd appreciate the pointer. Also, if anyone happens to know the difference between "The Soviet World of American Communism" and "The Secret World of American communism" which have the same author but different publication dates (but only by three years), I'd be interested in learning that too.
Thanks!
