I've learned so much since I first joined this group way back in 2011, or so. Oh, raked over the coals at times, but needed those hard lessons.

However, the one 'lesson' I chose to ignore was mixing 1rst person inner thoughts within a third-person story. I wish I could remember who came to my defense back in the day, with published and successful examples that proved to me I could go outside the box. It was a long-time and respected member of this community who gave me the courage to keep on keeping on and hone my style, and for that one interaction, I am so grateful it pushed me to finish my novel.
